My family has worked in roofing, sheet metal, plumbing, heating and electrical trades for over 115 years. As the youngest of the fourth generation, I worked both on job sites and in the back office — and saw first-hand how slow and manual quoting and order processing still are in our industry.
As an AI engineer at Google X, the moonshot factory, I used AI to solve complex problems across massive volumes of unstructured data. Together with my co-founders Stefan and Sean, I’m pursuing a deeply personal mission: bringing frontier technology to where it creates real value — to the companies that keep our economy running. For the people who carry the responsibility. For families like my own.

Co-founder & CEO
Lukas Bock
Lukas leads Mercura as co-founder and CEO. Previously an AI engineer at Google X and a data scientist at Allianz, he brings deep expertise in data and AI. His family’s 115-year history in roofing, sheet metal, plumbing, heating and electrical trades shapes Mercura’s focus on the needs of technical suppliers.

Sean Sdahl
Sean leads technical development as co-founder and CTO. A silver medalist for Germany at the International Physics Olympiad, he began researching with the Max Planck Institute at 16 and has published at leading machine-learning conferences. He also brings engineering experience from Bosch and Mercedes-Benz AMG.

Stefan Zheng
Stefan leads product development at Mercura. Previously he worked in management consulting at Bain & Company, helping manufacturers improve their operations. He brings research experience from MIT and Harvard Business School to building solutions for the industry.
